AT&T
Global Olympic
Village

The AT&T Global Olympic Village was the centerpiece of Centennial Olumpic Park at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta. The temporary complex was constructed in less than six months using a combination of stock decking and custom designed tensile structures.

  • The two vaulted tensile structures, Athlete's Pavilions A & B, contained lounges where athletes and their families could relax between events, watch the games, conduct interviews and call home.
  • The circular Consumer's Pavilion was a public showcase of current and future AT&T Technologies.
  • The main stage featured nightly concerts by performers such as Ray Charles and Hootie and the Blowfish. The Astrovision screen above the stage broadcast highlights and medal ceremonies from the games.
  • Below the stage were television broadcast studios for NBC affiliates from across the United States.
